Thanks so much for visiting my page! I’m already very proud of you for reaching out for help. I know starting therapy can be intimidating, so I hope that learning a few things about me will make you feel more comfortable about starting this beautiful journey.

So here’s a little about me. I grew up here in South Carolina, and am a country girl and proud! I attended college at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, where I received three degrees–a Bachelor’s degree in English (I was originally Pre-Law), a Master’s in School Counseling and Educational Specialist degree in Counselor Education. I worked as a school counselor for several years before deciding to go back to school to pursue my doctorate in Counseling Psychology. During this time I also became licensed in Georgia, and later in South Carolina. I’ve been working in private practice since 2016.

I love what I do, and love the clients I serve. I say often that I didn’t choose to be a Counselor, Counseling chose me. I had other plans for my life, but God blessed me with an amazing opportunity to mentor young girls and there I heard my calling to become a professional of the healing arts. Since then, I’ve had an amazing career having worked as a Counselor at a Youth Detention Center, School Counselor in two school districts, provided home-based services to children in foster care, worked as a Director at a group home and taught as an Adjunct Professor at a university.

I view my work as a mental health therapist as healing work. I am truly living my purpose and gain such joy in seeing others grow and transform their lives for the better. As much as I enjoy working, I am also a firm believer in self-care and practicing what I preach. For leisure, I enjoy art (I’m no Picasso, but love to paint and craft) yoga, reading, music, working out, trying new vegan recipes and spending quality time with my family. All of these things give me joy and make me smile! A balanced life is the goal we’re all trying to achieve. As your therapist, it would be my honor to walk with you along your journey towards a more balanced life so that you too can experience joy.

Peace and blessings!
